Sisensys aims to improve Safety in the supply chain of medicine. We believe trust comes with transparency and real-time transit visibility.
Counterfeit or fake medicine can be made with the wrong dose or no dose of medicine, or with toxic or harmful ingredients. Counterfeit medicines are unsafe. They are usually packaged to look like the real thing. Other health products, such as medical devices, mosquito nets, vaccines, or bug sprays can also be fakes. Transparency can help us to be sure nothing bad is going to happen during transportation as well.
Something that pharmacy business owners or businesses for transporting medicine and drugs or even factories who are developing drugs have to consider when storing or transporting their medications is temperature and humidity monitoring. The same goes for those who run or own laboratories, hospitals, blood banks, and pharmacy vaccine/VFC K-12 universities shipment data centers.
The WHO guidelines are based upon existing worldwide regulations and best practices. Local regulations, policies, and directives will take precedence over the WHO guidelines. However, in the absence of clear local directives, the WHO guidelines form the basis of best practices in the storage and transport of temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical products. Time and temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals should be imported through ports of entry that are equipped to handle such products.
After offloading, the time spent dockside or at the airport apron should be minimized with the pharmaceuticals being transferred to a proper temperature-controlled storage environment as quickly as possible. This temporary storage provides proper environmental conditions while awaiting official entry and customs clearance. Customs clearance delays can be avoided by pre-clearance or using a customs clearing agent who is familiar with handling pharmaceuticals. This minimizes the chance of temperature excursions taking place.
Medicines need to be tracked and monitored for their temperature and/or humidity or/and exposure to light over duck doors and expiration date during the shipment process (inside cars, trucks, ships, airplanes) and eventually borders of the country , warehouses and pharmacies. Secondary benefits here include instant inventory monitoring, asset management and product authentication.
- Temperature and humidity monitoring
- Light exposure alerts
- Product authentication
